07/05/2006:  Kellie shined on first leg of tour

 

               July 5, 2006 Manchester, N.H. Nine out of twelve Idols were present in the first leg of the American Idols Live! Season 5 tour. Kevin Covais, Melissa McGhee, and Katharine McPhee were a no show. Kellie Pickler almost didn't made it, having to deal with an untimely wisdom tooth problem. It was somewhat disappointing that the Idols didn't sound as good as they sounded during the contest. Something to do with arena acoustics. Mandisa's powerful vocals was not as impressive during the AI show. Paris' performance was too sophomoric. Taylor Hicks' performance was a bit over the top. Surprisingly, the contestants in the lower half of the spectrum namely Ace, Bucky, Lisa and Chris did an amazing job.  Of all the 9 Idols who performed, Kellie shined the most. Her performance was outstanding. And her outfit showed a lot of class and glamour. Far from the low key attire the others choose to wear. In her usual self, she amused the crowd with her silly quips taking a jab at her own dental predicament. And they love it!
